SAN DAMIANO WALL CROSS WITH BLACK WOOD BORDER – in this imagery, Christ crucified AND RISEN form. From His pierced side Blood and Water poors out as the fountain of mercy for all us poor sinners. On that same side we see the beloved disciple stand next to Mary Immaculate, which depicts the moment of salvation when our Lord gave His mother to be our own.  Above the crucified Christ, Jesus' Resurrection is looked forward to as Christ the King greets His disciples. Through this Cross we are reminded of the Resurrected Lord, who suffered and died for our sins. Known as the Holy Cross that Spoke to St. Francis of Assisi to "Go and Rebuild my Church". The Original now hangs at the Basilica of St. Clare of Assisi, Italy.
